It contains a good deal of information about the businesses, organizations, events, and history of Washington Island. The web site has been managed by Jerry, since the winter of 2001-2002.

In 2005 Washingtonisland.com has gone through major design and navigation changes. New features were added and the effort to make the web site more dynamic and encourage visitors to return regularly was completed. Traffic on the site has steadily increased and I project that it will continue in the future as more features and information are added. Advertising is the only source of revenue for the website. Businesses pay for their ads that link to pages of this web site or their own individual web sites. I urge you to patronize these places when you visit and let them know what you learned about them on the web through their information posted here. I expect new advertisers to sign on and the added content will fuel more interest and growth in the web site. 2005 has started with large numbers of visitors to the site.

Hello, my name is Jerry Rupiper. I am an “Islander”; that is I grew up on Washington Island, attended school and graduated in 1986 from Washington Island Schools. After attending college I’ve returned home to live and pursue my career as a Realtor and Business Owner of Washington Island Realty, Inc. My goal for Washington Island.com is to provide people on the internet with information about this community, promoting this community via the internet to the visitors that are a major part of the islands economy.

This web site, is my part-time business and I am working hard to develop it as my other ventures permit.
